Abstract

This paper revisits the problem of a fault-tolerant transmission with minimal delay in a wireless sensor network using a time division scheduling algorithm for node-to-node communication. Many solutions have been devised for the general and specific forms of this problem and our motivation is to design an algorithm for constrained devices allowing concurrent transmissions in the network. This work is a continuation of the paper [7], which presented such an algorithm optimized just for single message transmission at a time. Now, we extend it to enable a number of messages to be concurrently passed among stations. Our new algorithm preserves the benefits of the original one in that it is based on an easy to implement state machine and can be executed on very weak devices.
